Blog 21 independent component 2

Content:
LITERAL
(a) “I, Edwin Rubio, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work"

(b) My most helpful sources....
Mentor Alex Rivera.
Abletunes forum help.
Myself

(c) Provide a digital spreadsheet

(d) Explanation of what you completed.

I completed the first quarter of a original song, starting from a basic melody to a build up and a drop, also a dynamic backgrounds noise that increases the difficulty of the project. Very basic but It was done to the best of my abilities.

INTERPRETIVE
Defend your work and explain how the significant parts of your component and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.   Provide evidence (photos, transcript, art work, videos, etc) of the 30 hours of work.

APPLIED
How did the component help you answer your EQ or support one or more of your answers.  Please include specific examples to illustrate how it helped.
My component helped me understand how important is my first answer which is having a broad song sample library, not just for djing but for making and engineering your own music. for example while doing my IC I realize how many sounds I thought of creating but couldn't because of the limitation of samples in my packs. Of course it was easy for me to buy some basic but in this situation it was unintelligent for me to buy expensive sounds for a basic component but the opportunities and outcomes where endless. Although it too a long time to create 55 seconds of a really good quarter of a song. The time spent on this project has been really fun yet it limited me a lot from other pursuits and such, maybe in the future it would be a great hobby but for now it was a great run and now it is done.

(d) Over the passed 2 moths i have been attending some events with Alex Rivera my mentor and some on my own with my independent time to Dj, 5 hour long sessions onmy own for this amazing independent component.

INTERPRETIVE
For my proof i am going to provide more pictures like the ones i've provided before to show some of the events i have attended to.

APPLIED
How did the component help you understand the foundation of your topic better? It simply showed me dicipline and punctuality on the job simply because it is not easy but also there is major planning that it takes to prepare to a even simple event.
Please include specific examples to illustrate how it helped.

For Example: in one of the events i had to go all the way to monrovia with no laptop and i had to improvise what to do, luckly i had a back up plan with a cousin that lend me his laptop but from then on i reviewed every single item that was essential for every session specially to an important event like quincianeras and other house congratualtions party.

Senior Project Update

Content:

(1) What are you currently doing in your independent component?
-My Independent Component has been really taking off where I constantly go out and attend really amazing set-ups of lighting and sound. I been asking around for tips and cool ways to make a amazing set up i really learned a couple of amazing settings, also many different devices that would significantly show the effort put into a presentation. In my opinion is becoming more of the art of how to create something original and pleasant to the audience.

(2) What is a recent piece of research (article, interview, or audio-visual) that have you reviewed you would say was significant in helping you understand where to go next in your senior project?  The piece of research should be something you reviewed in November.  Please explain what you learned and where are you going next because of this piece of research.

this article showed a group of the biggest lighting engineers on the electronic music production community, it shows ont of the most amazing projects i have ever seen. and inspired me to take a look at the amazing choice of engineering on lighting and others.

(3) Provide evidence from your independent component or the piece of research as something you recently did.  For example, a photo of something you working on for your independent component or your notes from the video you watched.
-This is my starting up equipment.
-Same system but with a laptop.

-This is me at a House Party xD and the top picture is my house praacticing tools in which i make sets for fun.

Independent Component 1 Plan Approval

(1) Write a description of what you plan on doing for your independent study component.
For my Independent study component I am planning to find out more about my topic and become an expert on the field.
At least start by attending live performances and volunteering to help my mentor, to see any techniques, tips or tricks i can learn. Keep on experiencing the life of a rookie Turntablist and find more contacts to acquire other people that can help me on figuring out the answer to my EQ.

(2) Describe in detail how you think your plan will meet the 30 hours work requirement.
For the most part in my independent study, i am going to work hand on hand with a Dj on behind the scenes,  this way i can see and experience more about what happens and  tips i need to know. i am hoping this can take me more out there with other people and meet other artists that might help me on the expert field.

(3) How does your independent study component relate to your working EQ?
yes, simply because it helps me figure out the life and factors i need in the Dj life. And not just Djing but also music production which is my ultimate goal. where i use the turntable to create my own sounds, together with new beatpads software and others. this will help me become an expert on producing and music mixing.
