Second Interview Questions

-The purpose of the second interview is justify your mentor as an expert in the field.  Thus, you will be asking at least 5 questions about their background and/or the background of the organization or company where they work.

Background Questions

1) What inspired you to become a turntablist?
Maybe a person or event in their life that had a big impact to them that might of triggered the decision.

2)How long have you been a Dj?
Time and experience is valued in the media, because the more practice the artist has the better off he is meeting and making business with other people.

3) When did you get you actual equipment you use today?
Equipment may vary from least quality to best quality or performance as time progressed.

4)When did you establish your label or record name?
Possible names he had in mind of what made him/her make the decision  on goals or any place, event that inspired to end up in.

5) What are some experiences that inspired you to become a turntablist?
may show event in past shows or people that helped to shape the goal.

6) In past experiences have you ever had to pass on an event for personal issues? or any other issues?
This question may show the line between (his/ her) job  and the personal. show interests and commitments.

7) How do you keep your self advertise to keep getting new events?
The kind of advertisement and/or methods of socialization, media issues and other.

Working EQ

The Pentagon:

(1) Positive Statement: What positive thing happen as a result of what you have completed so far?

-I really enjoy my topic and i feel like I am learning more every time. many things I did not know that i know now that make such a difference.

(2) EQ Content:  Pick a piece of research or your interview.  How has it helped you improve your understanding of your topic?

-At the start of research and even mentorship, I thought that having amazing gear meant you were an awesome Dj, but i have acknowledge that this isn't necessarily true because a successful Dj can mix with anything.

(3) What has worked for you so far in the senior project?

-Research definitely because i learned more reading.

(4) What hasn't worked so far?

-For me getting only house time to do review the research is not working. so I am arranging to make more time out side so i can read through all of it or at least most.

(5) Finding Value:  Based on your experience so far,

     What possible question or questions come to mind regarding what you would like to study this year? -Nothing but questions will come up through out the year.
     What is your end goal this year with your senior project?
    -To find out if its worth keeping as a main hobbie that might pay up grandly.
    Who would you like to talk to you next? Why? 
    -A well known Artist. because this way he/she can tell me what is the most important factor for a successful Electronic dance music Dj.

Interview Preparation

1. For my interviews I am planning in Interviewing a dear friend that might not have the knowledge in turntablism but has been around and talked to me about so many successful djs from past and present generations. His name is Raul Garcia. He always talked to me about what kind of choices artist made since the beginning of their careers, which makes me think he will have some knowledge.

Topic Choice

A.
My topic is Turntablism or DJ.

I chose Turntablism because of my passion with Electronic Music, and i wanted to experience a life sustained only by pursuing the life of a Dj.

B.
  • iPoly Citizen: I plan to acknowledge any good thinks and bad thinks been a Dj and the citizen obligations that have to be followed, while at the job and of the job.
  • Effective Communicator: As a Turntablist there is very different categories of contacts that one has to know and is very important to have various kinds of speaking skills to communicate with different people.
  • Effective Learner:  I plan to learn more than what i already know about this topic and master the skills required.
  • Effective User of Technology: Been a Dj requires to know about the newest and most recent software of all kinds out there and an effective us of technology is very important to this career.
